William Hill are to take on a new Group Finance Director to replace Simon Lane when he leaves and are also to create a new role of Brand & Marketing Director. The new replacement FD will be appointed to the role in 2010 and will be Neil Cooper, 42. Neil Cooper doesn’t have a background in either land-based gaming or online gaming, however, his experience is extensive and should prove a great asset to the Board and to the company as a whole. He will be leaving his role as F.D. of Bovis Homes Group PLC, which he joined in 2007. Prior to that he was with Whitbread plc for 8 years and before that he was with PWC. He originally qualified as a Management Accountant with Reckitt Benckiset – which is now Reckitt & Colman plc.
In addition to a new Group FD – William Hill have created a new role of Brand & Marketing Director, which will be filled by Kristof Fahy. Mr Fahy will be reporting into Ralph Topping. The role will encompass all areas of branding across which the company operates. The 39 year old, once again, does not come from a gaming background, but has great international experience in his field. As VP of International Marketing for the hugely successful Yahoo! Inc., Brand Marketing Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Blackberry, and spent five years with Orange where he ended up as Head of Brand, Planning and Advertising for Orange UK.
