PartyGaming have announced that they are all set for a launch on the Danish market on 1 January 2011, despite not being able to confirm if this will be in partnership with Dankse Spil, the Danish state backed gambling monopoly.
Jim Ryan, PartyGaming’s CEO responded briskly to analysts requests for updates on the Danish market when discussing PartyGaming’s recently published mid-year financial results. This follows an announcement earlier in the year that PartyGaming had won the tender to supply the online gambling platform on behalf of Dankse Spil, only for this to be cancelled in June following a complaint that the tender process had not been correctly followed.
Despite the setback it’s apparent that not all in lost for PartyGaming in the Danish market. PartyGaming have gone ahead with the development of their Danish language online gaming platform, and whilst Ryan can’t offer any guarantees of the Danske Spil deal being turned around, it’s clear that they hold some hope that this may occur.
In relation to the Danske Spil deal, Ryan is on record as stating that ”we positioned ourselves hopefully to do business with Danske Spil in future. At this point in time, we have nothing to announce..”
The recent approval of PartyGaming as an approved supplier in the newly regulated French poker market, and the potential developments in the Italian market should keep the business to business section of PartyGaming occupied for some time to come. But it’s apparent the Danish market is high on the list of objectives, and judging by the sounds PartyGaming’s senior management team are making, it looks like it could well be on the cards.
