On first appearances the Bars and Stripes slot actually looks rather appealing to the eye.  The slot incorporates  graphics within the game, particularly with the substitute and scatter symbols which is done rather nicely. However, as a whole package we just felt that its all a little brash for our tastes.

Ultimately a good online pokie is characterised by a combination of excellent bonus features, great graphics and the ability to maintain a players interests over the long term.  On this basis the Bars and Stripes online slot fails on all three counts.  Without wanting to be too harsh, the bonus game is rather pathetic (you simply choose one of three hats to reveal a prize).  If you are going to go to the hassle of creating a bonus game surely not come up with something a little more creative than this?  We really do expect more from the team at Microgaming (the software company that produced this slot).
