Harrah’s new online division is to be based in Montreal, Canada rather than in the US at Harrah’s Las Vegas head office.
According to industry insiders, this news comes as no surprise given the aggressive legal stance US authorities have taken against online gambling operators in recent years.
It also seems that’s Harrahs Interactive’s new CEO, Mitch Garber, may have had some say in the matter. Garber, a Canadian citizen was most recently the CEO of Paty Gaming, the Gibraltar based online gambling giant, is himself from Montreal.
Accroding to the Montreal Gazette, Garber was “really happy to bring Harrah’s to Montreal”.
